What can cause shoulder pain?
Shoulder pain or rotator cuff pain can range from mild to severe and result from specific injuries such as repetitive overhead work, impaired posture, arthritis and other conditions. This can cause damage to joints, tendons, muscles and ligaments.
What type of exercise help shoulder pain?
  • Pain in neck
  • Pain in the shoulder joint at rest or with movements
  • Pain, weakness and discomfort with overhead movements
  • Pain travelling from the shoulder down to the elbow
  • Pain in the shoulder while sleeping
What type of exercise can help shoulder pain?
Upper trap stretch:
  • Begin exercise by standing In front of a mirror with good posture , insuring ears align with shoulders
  • Place one hand behind you back and place other hand on you head
  • Gently tilt head to shoulders that you holding your head with
  • Should feel a stretch on opposite side of neck
  • Hold for 20-30 seconds repeat 2-3 sets
Levator scapulae stretch:
  • Begin exercise by standing In front of a mirror with good posture , insuring ears align with shoulders
  • Place one hand behind your back and other hand one head
  • Slowly draw chin toward the shoulder/armpit
  • You should start to a feel an opposite stretch
  • Hold for 20-30 seconds, repeat 2-3
  • Serratus wall slide:
  • Start by standing a few meters away from a wall
  • Stand feet shoulder width apart, place you forearms flat against the wall
  • Take a deep breath in and slowly glide your forearms up against the wall while you exhale ( try to do it in 6-8 seconds)
  • Once you reach the top, slowly glide your forearms back down to starting position while inhaling
  • Repeat from step 3
