What can cause Plantar Fasciitis?
Plantar fasciitis can be caused by tissue in the foot being overused. This can happen from regular day to day actives from long periods on feet like work, walking. Other causes can be type of shoes worn.
What are common signs?
- Early morning heel pain/stiffness
- Pain in the heel/foot while taking the first few steps after waking up
- Pain/stiffness in the calf muscle
- Pain localized within the heel, mid-foot or rear-foot with prolong walking
What type of exercise can help Plantar Fasciitis pain?
Toe Curls:
- Start by sitting on chair with good posture, to help doing this exercise place a towel on the floor
- Place your foot flat on the towel and try grabbing towel by curing your toes
- Hold the towel in toes for 1-2 seconds and let go
- Repeat and take 15 seconds rest breaks
Calf stretch:
- Stand close to wall placing one foot in front of the other keeping the knee in front slight bent
- Place both hands straight up against the wall
- Bring hips forward towards the direction of the wall while keeping back leg straight and heel flat on floor
- Keep back straight
